Cygnet Programme (Autism)

Description

Cygnet is a parenting programme for parents of children and young people aged 5-19 with a diagnosis of autism. The course is designed to help parents develop their knowledge on how a child on the autistic spectrum experiences the world and to guide parents through practical strategies they can use with their children.

The programme is delivered by the SEND Teaching School, based at Linden Bridge School in Worcester Park.

The courses is free, but we ask for a deposit of £10 per person which will be refunded on attending the course. We reserve the right to keep the deposits of people who do not attend. Positive Autism Support and Training (PAST)

Description

Positive Autism Support and Training provides support to families who have children with autism and associated conditions.

Support and training they offer includes:

  • Family Support - ranging from baby-sitting, advice on schools, advice on behaviour and more. They also offer advice on PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)
  • Behaviour Coaching - PAST understand that having a child with an autism spectrum condition can be challenging at times. They work with families to give them the strategies and skills they need to make parenting a child with an ASC that little bit easier.
  • Training in Schools and Colleges - PAST offer a range of accredited and bespoke training programmes for schools and colleges. They can offer basic autism advice, PDA training, Level 2 and Level 3 Accredited training. Our training is accredited by OCN.
  • Advice with Schooling and EHCPs - their family consultants can help you navigate your way through the mine-field that accompanies EHCPs, Annual Review paperwork etc.
  • Anger and Anxiety Management Programmes - PAST can use a CBT approach to help children manage their anxiety and anger. They also work with parents to help them support their child to manage their emotions. Each programme is developed on an individual basis.
